Affordable House for Sale

The Salal Neighborhood is having its first resale. Due to the resale restrictions that keep these homes permanently affordable, the purchase price has only gone up 1% since it was first purchased about 1 & 1/2 years ago. The new price is $131,805. Eligibility requirements inlcude a minimum of 3 years in San Juan County, earning no more than 80% of Area Median Income for a family of your size, and mortgage readiness. Ringing in the New Year . . .

We made it through the November snow and freeze, we made it through the big blow with only one tree down behind House 4 that also clipped House 3 (crushed some of the deer fencing but no damage to the houses)! We even made it through all of the holiday craziness. Well, now it is a brand new year and yup, they're talking snow -- AGAIN! Hello two thousand and seven!

Here are some photos from the Neighborhood during our big post-Thanksgiving snowstorm -- no major damage though and we were without power for only a couple of hours -- kudos to OPALCO!

Late fall is definitely here! The Neighborhood has been getting through the recent spate of heavy storms quite nicely. But since everyone is staying cozing indoors, I miss seeing all my Neighbors on a regular basis. Hey there everyone!

No Cost Ways to Support the Home Trust!

Try these easy was to donate to San Juan Community Home Trust:

1. Collect your receipts from any Kings store. Valmark will donate a 1% rebate on Kings receipts to the Home Trust. Mail your receipts to us or drop them by our office on Argyle Avenue.

2. Take the “Cure for Ferry Anxiety.” Rent a car from Enterprise Rent-a-Car when you travel to the mainland. Proceeds are donated to the Home Trust. For details, visit the Home Trust website or give us a call at 378-5541.

3. Donate the proceeds from a sale of your second hand items at Consignment Treasures located at 6739 Roche Harbor Road.

4. Purchase delicious AP Wine. Proceeds go to affordable housing. To make a purchase, visit our website, call our office or visit one of our local grocery stores.
